HARD LITTLE HEART
by Sullivan Fall (Timothy A. Thompson)
Is there a part in your hard little heart for me, Wendy?
Can't you see that every man just wants your hand to keep you dumb
Doped numb in some suburban slum
Mixing anti-depressants with your coke and rum
Have you been dreaming of a summer wedding
With an endless snow white wedding gown?
Playing perfect mommy in a mortgaged dollhouse
After weighing gentlemen callers by the pound
Must he be tall, dark and handsome, and reasonably devout
Not hunched over, pale and far from sober, crippled by the doubt
So play your part with all your hard little heart can find behind your wasted mind
Between the noise and the illusion of a choice you're still until the reasons spill
Built my life on fear and resentment, hiding out from the chains of contentment
So keep your heart where you know it won't be hurt
Moving in to the move-up community, payment down with aspirational lust
Anytime Annie caught the affluenza now she's waiting for some proof of trust
Baby's down, Man’s too busy buying to help you get unbent
Wedding ring went down the kitchen sink and you hope it was an accident
So better start before your hard little heart's too cold to hold and your secret's told
To all the ears eager to hear how far you'll go to show your devoted glow
Find the time between sleep and feeding, keep it wrapped so we're safe from breeding
And hide your heart but for a part you save for me
When you're in need.

LET'S HIT IT (LET'S DO IT)
by Sullivan Fall
Ain't no crime, girl of mine, just to feel a little pleasure
Take my time, a little wine, then I'll handle all your treasure
Draw the blinds from prying eyes, keep it close just you and me
We'll do it right and take all night and then girl you will see
How good it can be
Let's hit it, let's do it, turn around put your back in to it
Let's do it, let's hit it, come on baby now don't you quit it
Let's hit it, let's do it, got a problem then we'll work through it
Let's do it, let's hit it, ain't stopping till your light I lit it
Wanna see just how you'll be once I've really got you going
Take a peak at your inner freak, I think your "Uh!" is showing
We ain't done when I've got one, you got something coming too
So stick it out and there's no doubt in my mind what we can do
It's up to me and you
Let's hit it, let's do it, turn around put your back in to it
Let's do it, let's hit it, come on baby now don't you quit it
Let's hit it, let's do it, got a problem then we'll work through it
Let's do it, let's hit it, ain't stopping till your light I lit it
Don't worry 'bout tomorrow baby, there's more loving left till then
You ain't gotta beg or borrow baby, all you gotta do is to say "when"
Let's hit it, let's do it, turn around put your back in to it
Let's do it, let's hit it, come on baby now don't you quit it
Let's hit it, let's do it, got a problem we'll work through it
Let's do it, let's hit it, ain't stopping till your light I lit it.

BOYZTOWN
by Sullivan Fall
All my life I have been looking for some kind of place
Somewhere to shake my ass and then still show my face
Free from shame, where no one will blame me
For only ever wanting to be held
So I'm
Going down to Boyztown, maybe meet the man I'll love
There's a place I found that fits me like a glove
After all these years in hiding now I can be free
Going down to Boyztown maybe find a man in me
I've spent my life so lonely on this same old empty bed
Couldn't find a lover who would lend a helping head
Had settled for, absolutely nothing more
Then a rent rat now and then to take my turns
Going down to Boyztown, maybe meet the man I'll love
There's a place I found and it fits me like a glove
After all these years in hiding I can now be free
Going down to Boyztown, maybe find the man in me
Ever since this heaven's fallen down
I haven't set my feet back on the ground
I've been dancing for what seems to be so long
But i don’t care, I will still be dancing at the dawn
I'm going down to Boyztown, gonna meet the man I love
Finally I found one and he fits me like a glove
After all these years of trying I can be happy
Going down to Boyztown, gonna meet the man who loves me
The man who loves me.

CONFLICTED
by Sullivan Fall
She said "it's not all about you"
But that doesn't mean that it's true
I try to smile but it only ends up hurting my face
Keeping busy running lines to win the race for last place
Giving up despite the time that I've been taking up space
Feeling…
Conflicted, out of my mind (3 X)
Conflicted, out of my ....
Keep up or you don't get a shot
Quick fix and the moment's forgot
"Decent kid but he just doesn't have a thought in his head"
Strapped the body to the metal of the movable bed
Slip me something that will trick me into thinking instead
Of feeling
Conflicted, out of my mind (3 X)
Conflicted, out of my ....
What makes a man submit unto convention's myth?
To settle for some pleasure in the evenings?
The ring that claims a hand makes too many demands
On my life of leisure, I'm not a man of means
Still I hope the fatal blow will not be so slow as for me to know
Till then I am still so
Conflicted, out of my mind
Conflicted, out of my.....

TIMOTHY THE LION
by Sullivan Fall
Come see Timothy the lion, kitten if you're crying
Come see Timothy the lion, make you cry no more (repeat)
Girl don't you let him spoil your day
Don't be sad that he ran away
He don't deserve you that's what I say
Come see the lion, make you feel okay
And if he don't know what he is missin'
Girl all you’ve got to do is listen
Come see Timothy the lion, kitten if you're crying
Come see Timothy the lion, make you cry no more (repeat)
Girl don't you let him spoil your fun
Don't get down if he choose to run
Just dry your eyes out in the sun
Then you will see he not the only one
And if he don't think you're the bee knees
Then he deserves a disease
Come see Timothy the lion, kitten if you're crying
Come see Timothy the lion, make you cry no more (repeat).

MUSTACHIOED KISSES
by Sullivan Fall
Been out here on the road so long, rocking out and singing my song
Everyone I meet knows my name
Another town, another show, blow their minds and then it's time to go
I've got your picture but it's not the same
But when this tour's through and I can come back home to you
There’ll be a smile on my face
Now that I know what the meaning of life is
So I'm waiting for your mustachioed kisses
Life is crazy with this band, screaming girls and guys who shake my hand
But still I'm keeping you inside
Sweat it out under the lights and then through all the sleepless hotel nights
Waiting for the day our love can't hide
And when midnight comes around, all the boys are getting down
I'm waiting to escape
Now that I know what the meaning of life is
So I'm waiting for your mustachioed kisses
And when you hold me in your arms, there's no reason to resist
‘Cause I’m a sucker for your lips
And when all my work is done and all the tears are shed
You'll still be my only one and I will be the man in your bed
Now that I know what the meaning of life is
So I'm waiting for your mustachioed kisses
Now that I know…

PANTS OF 1904
by Sullivan Fall
We want to a party where i meant to propose
A ring kept in my pocket for when the time arose
My love, i could not find her when it was time to dance
Where she was was inside of another man's pants.

A Harder-On Me

A HARDER-ON ME
by Sullivan Fall
She takes every morning a mouthful of sunshine
Since I met her all my dreams have been so dry
And I don't mind when tomorrow comes
She says "everyday, boy, you're getting better.
More a lover and less of a letter,"
Still I let her 'cause she knows where from
And though I know I can't forget elle est tres belle j'ai mal a la tete
Still she's there when I despair and that's rarer now
She makes a harder-on me everyday
And the smile on her face makes it so easy not to stray
When I thought she'd be gone before she turned on
Now I'm sorry to say
She makes a harder-on me everyday that she stays
Used to be useless, an innocent fool
Face down in the paddling pool,
Now I'm schooled in her favourite feel
Asleep on the train after all of that night-wear
A dream arrives and if she is not there, it's a nightmare
Till I know what's real
She says "just put your hand in mine and the other one inside
and be certain I'm not yearning for some spark"
She makes a harder-on me everyday
And the smile on her face makes it so easy not to stray
When I thought she'd be gone before she turned on
Now I'm sorry to say
She makes a harder-on me everyday that she stays
It tastes like heaven when we kiss, even to this atheist
She rubs her rose for me and that's all the faith I need
She makes a harder-on me everyday
And the smile on her face makes it easy not to stray
When I thought she'd be gone before she turned on
Now I'm sorry to say
She makes a harder-on me everyday that she stays.

DON'T PUT YOUR PUDDING (WHERE YOU'RE PUDDING DOESN'T GO)
by Sullivan Fall
Since the day that I was born I had a wandering eye
Nursing in the nursery watching nurses go by
In the presence of some honey, I'd start to get all aglow
So Mama taught me how to pray, told me not to go astray
And not to put my pudding where my pudding didn’t go
When I was a boy they wouldn't leave me alone
The girls all promised candy just to hang on the phone
Till my father told me "son, there's something you ought to know:
If you gotta give your love then you should send it up above
and you don't put your pudding where your pudding doesn't go"
Oh you don't put your pudding where your pudding doesn't go
And you don't plant your garden where you know it won't grow
If you start to feel it turning, burning under your skin
It's just another generation of original sin
Forgot to say my prayers and spent no Sundays in church
Woke up in the bottom of some godforsaken lurch
My poppa told me often, but it never took hold
"If you're gonna spill your seed then first you’d better sign the deed
and don't put your pudding where your pudding doesn't go
Okay let's go
Well I went and put my pudding where my pudding didn't go
Now I pray the Lord above doesn't send me below
Should've listened to my Pop instead of cutting loose
Should've stayed in bed instead and read a little bit of Proust
Now that I am back here in a hospital bed
The nurses making sure that I'm the last to be fed
Well, mom and pop come see me, if it isn't too cold
Guess I got what I deserved 'cause I ain't ever heard a word
And went and put my pudding where my pudding didn't go
Went and put my pudding where my pudding didn’t go.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO TELL ME
by Sullivan Fall
You don't have to tell me
Just because your mouth can move
That your lips will lie to prove
Anything is yours because you called it
You call me around midnight
Asking me to spell it out
Like you can't read it for yourself
Or is that too much effort to pull from you?
There's no need to talk it out until you feel it's stuck
You don't have to pay me off but i could always use a buck
But if there was a reason to get out of here today
You don't have to tell me, I'm not listening anyway
You don't have to tell me
Every time you've turned up split
I've heard all your greatest hits
And i'm still not convinced your only kidding
Call me sentimental but tonight i need a cause
Any fool can get applause
By playing idiot to old illusions
Your smile's hiding something, a history with glass?
Is there a box of shackles you've held onto from your past?
If apathy was beauty i would say you were the queen
You don't have to tell me because your just being mean
You don't have to tell me
Just how far your mind has slid
Took me to the swinging bridge
And tried to shake me off into the water
First time that i found you
You came on like some disease
Then you left me begging please
But your mysteries now seem so plotted
At your father's funeral you looked so good in black
I could try to save you but i'd never make it back
With a band-aid for a wedding ring, your fingers on display
You don't have to tell me now that you have got your way.

THE UNKNOWN SORROWS OF A HANDSOME MAN
by Sullivan Fall
Summer left a shadow through the winter
June she kept me up until the dawn
Good thing all that snow by spring had melted
When June threw my accoutrements on the lawn
Well I caught a ride to Minot, North Dakota
Where all those damn mosquitoes nearly bled me dry
I was on my way to Manitoba
When Miss North Dakota came to get her kiss goodbye
Well, missy, I'm no man to knit into your plans
'Cause I'm always on my way to somewhere I'll never stay
All my children are gonna be bastards
And all my women are gonna cry
Ain't no honey sweet enough to keep me
Or to stick me with a bunch of noisy flies
Took some time to heal up with Sabrina
Lord she kept me clean and fed me fine
She gave me every twist a man could handle
And all I left her with was a little wine
All my children are gonna be bastards
And all my women are gonna cry
Ain't no honey sweet enough to keep me
Or to stick me with a bunch of noisy flies
All my children are gonna be bastards
But they ain't my fault to find
They can all grow up to hate this bastard
The very same way that I’ve hated mine
Isn't that the way the world unwinds.

23 DAYS
by Sullivan Fall
She couldn't wait until
The resignation poet's final spill
Waking up she never felt so scared
Then he left her there with a few more easy words
She spoke so soft that no one even heard
For 23 days, for 23 days
Once a heart takes hold
Desire burns out loud till it dies cold
Every step it took a little more
And the tears that fell into her favourite books
After suffering their stupid, shameful looks
For 23 days, for 23 days
Kept her secrets well
And her story straight so it was hard to tell
Said the lines too many times to fail
And she kept her word, took one last walk through the park
Her body found there on her arms a mark
For 23 days, for 23 days, for 23 days.

CAN'T KEEP THE STRAIGHT EDGE (ANYMORE)
by Sullivan Fall
In my innocence of youth, I thought there might be truth
But I don't trust such notions much these days
Thought clarity would come if I would not succumb
To all of those denials along the way
But that's when I could think without another drink
And I can't keep the straight edge anymore
I barely make it out those swinging doors
All the things that weren't for me now keep me company
My straight edge now is crooked to the core
Used to be so quick to point the weaker stick
At all those wasted sheep at Maggie’s farm
But now I can't get up without a morning cup
And some kind of shot in the arm
Now I need a little help to remember how that felt
And I can't keep the straight edge anymore
I barely make it out those swinging doors
All the things that weren't for me now keep me company
And my straight edge has gone crooked to the core
I tried to keep it clean and I tried to beat the scene
But this serfdom doesn't make much of a soul
So it's one more for the road, to get another load
And pull another dollar from the hole
And I can't keep the straight edge anymore
I barely make it out those swinging doors
All the things that weren't for me have become my company
And my straight edge now is crooked to the core.

THE DAY SHE IS GONE
by Sullivan Fall
Did you think that you could live without it
After going so long without?
Did you think that you knew all about it
And never had a doubt?
But when that woman came into your life
She turned your lonely night to a dawn
And if you thought that you were lonely before
Just wait until the day that she is gone
Did you think that it would be so easy
Once she had a taste of your charms?
Did you think that that she was so beneath thee
That she would always stay in your arms?
But that girl was smarter than you thought she was
You mistook a queen for a pawn
And if you thought that you were lonely before
Just wait until the day that she is gone
I bet you thought that you could do whatever you wanted
And you never, ever thought to ever do her a thing
While you were busy chasing ones you thought she haunted
She was learning just how much joy leaving can bring
Now you say that there’s too much in your life
You didn't need her hanging on
But if you thought that you were lonely before
Now how's it feel to know she's glad to be gone?
She’s glad to be gone.
